Economy Min. meets Ecuadorian, Japanese counterparts

TEHRAN, Oct. 10 (MNA) – Iran’s Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia held meetings with his Ecuadorian and Japanese counterparts on the sidelines of the World Banks and IMF annuals meeting in Lima, Peru.

During his meeting with Japan’s deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso, Tayyebnia emphasized the development of bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

Referring to the positive atmosphere created for the development of technical and economic relations with Japan, the Iranian official deemed signing of economic agreements between the two countries as the starting point for bilateral economic cooperation.

The Japanese official, for his part, appreciated the nuclear deal between the 5+1 and Iran, stressing Japan’s willingness and readiness for the development of technical and economic ties as well as re-establishing of banking relations with Iran.

Also, at a separate meeting between Iran and Ecuador ministers of economy Fausto Herrera, the two sides held talks on ways of developing trade and economic relations.

Tayyebnia pointed to the good relations between Iran and Ecuador announcing Tehran’s readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and invited Ecuadorian minister to make a visit to Iran which was welcomed by the Ecuadorian official.

Ecuador's finance minister, for his part, expressed satisfaction on Iran’s nuclear deal and called for expansion of bilateral trade and economic ties referring to the recent meeting of the two countries’ presidents on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
